Our Story
The idea of ADVITIYAM germinated in a conversation over a steaming cup of perfectly brewed Baba Budan Giri filter coffee served in a brass, ‘Dawara,’ tumbler. However, it took many ‘coffee dates’, many sessions and many more cups of the perfect brew for the idea to materialize into this venture. Advitiyam, in Sanskrit means unique, Shobha and Usha, the co-founders, realized that collaboration of their unique expertise, in their respective fields, could result in optimum benefit for all the stakeholders.
Advitiyam counselors with their eye on the future aim to democratize international and national education. We offer a gamut of services, Shortlisting Universities, brainstorming ideas for essays and resume building, training for tests, building soft skills, and visa applications. Often, the desire and potential for international education is eclipsed by monetary constraints, we will alleviate this constraint by overseeing the process for need based and merit based scholarships as well as bursaries. In fact, if you have the desire we have the expertise. Together we can build the bridge to a brilliant future.
Usha Hari Co-founder
A techie with over two decades of experience in the IT and Banking sector, I realized that asset monetization, global education, is the invincible truth to combat challenges and establish one’s identity in a world of diminishing distances. This realization encouraged me to use my expertise, garnered from handling global projects in a leadership position across North America, Europe and Asia, to guide students in their quest for an education that would foster a global presence and ameliorate their innate potential and aptitude.
On a personal level, travelling and adventure sports help me unwind and at the same time subject my body to the level of endurance. Free fall skydiving, rappelling, rowing, marathons, exploring the uncharted, exemplifies my philosophy of life be it work or leisure.
Shobha Math Co-founder
There are different facets to my personality all intertwined and inclusive giving me a well-defined perspective of life. Having a Masters in Psychology, and a second Masters in English, helped me consolidate this perspective into my strength.
I have more than two decades of experience in the field of academics as a tutor of Psychology, French tutor, translator and interpreter, SAT, ACT, GRE, IELTS and TOFEL TRAINER. A parallel stint in journalism, writing scripts and jingles, doing voice-overs, and conducting vocabulary-building workshops in English and French coupled with music and painting, helped me zero in on what mattered to me the most. I leveraged my innate potential for multi-tasking to nurture and mentor young minds which translated into unrivaled satisfaction.
For more than a decade I have been engaged in counselling, mentoring and helping students navigate through Uni- apps, shortlisting unis, brainstorming ideas for essays and resume building. The placement of my students in prestigious universities, Stanford, Princeton, Oxford, Johns Hopkins, NYU, North Western, Columbia, Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, Warwick, and Geneva Business School to name just a few, reiterates my faith in my mentees and myself.
